Biblia Takatifu

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Biblia Takatifu handles information when you use our Swahili Bible reading and study application.

Effective date: September 15, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 15, 2026

Important implementation note: This policy is drafted for the features visible in the current app design, including Bible reading, audio playback, highlights, bookmarks, notes, and preferences. Before publishing, replace the highlighted placeholders and confirm whether the app uses accounts, analytics, advertising, cloud sync, crash reporting, subscriptions, or other third-party services.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Biblia Takatifu mobile application and related services (together, the “Service”). It describes what information we may collect, how we use it, when we may share it, and the choices available to you.

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect

We aim to collect only the information needed to provide and improve the Service. The information we handle depends on the features you use and the technical configuration of the app.

Information you create in the app

The Service may allow you to create or save study-related content, such as highlights, bookmarks, notes, reading progress, playback preferences, and other app settings. This content may be stored locally on your device. If cloud synchronization or an account feature is enabled, it may also be associated with your account and stored on our servers or those of a service provider.

Information collected automatically

The app or its service providers may process limited technical information, such as device type, operating-system version, app version, language, general region, and diagnostic or crash information. We use this information only if the relevant collection tools are enabled and as described in this Policy.

Information we do not need

Biblia Takatifu does not need your precise location, contacts, microphone, camera, photos, or advertising identifier to provide basic Bible reading and study features. We will request access to a device permission only when a feature genuinely requires it and, where supported, after asking for your permission.

Information from third parties

If you sign in through a third-party identity provider, purchase a subscription, or use another integrated service, we may receive limited information from that provider, such as an account identifier, name, or email address, according to that provider’s privacy settings and terms.

3. How we use information

We may use information for the following purposes:

  • to provide Bible reading, audio playback, bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading progress, and app preferences;
  • to save and restore your settings or study content, if those features are enabled;
  • to maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Service;
  • to understand aggregated usage patterns and improve usability, where analytics are enabled;
  • to communicate with you about the Service, support requests, policy updates, or transactions; and
  • to comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, prevent misuse, and protect the rights and safety of users and others.

We do not use the personal content of your Bible notes or reflections to provide targeted advertising.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: to vendors that host data, provide authentication, analytics, customer support, crash reporting, payments, or other services on our behalf. They may use information only to perform services for us and must protect it appropriately.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm.
  • Business changes: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
  • With your direction: when you choose to share content or use an external service through the app.

Publisher action required: list the actual third-party providers used by the app, such as analytics, crash reporting, authentication, cloud storage, payment, advertising, or audio-content providers.

5. Storage, security, and retention

Local storage

Some app content may be stored locally on your device. You can remove locally stored app data by using the operating system’s app controls or uninstalling the app, subject to your device’s behavior and backups.

Server storage

If the app provides accounts or cloud synchronization, information may be stored on servers operated by us or our service providers. We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to resolve disputes and enforce agreements.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can generally:

  • manage device permissions through your operating-system settings;
  • disable optional notifications or analytics where those controls are available;
  • delete notes, highlights, bookmarks, or other in-app content using the available app controls; and
  • request deletion of an account or personal information by contacting us.

To make a privacy request, contact us using the details in the Contact us section. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

7. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

8. International data transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers and handle information in accordance with applicable data-protection law.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where required, provide additional notice through the app or another appropriate channel. Your continued use of the Service after an update means that you acknowledge the revised Policy.
